Why Jambo Kilimanjaro?

The question is justified and you should ask yourself before your booking: “Why do I want to travel with this tour operator and not another one”?

So why should you travel with us?

We were asked this question from the day we first talked about offering trips and not just writing about our experience. We have given a lot of thought to the subject. So why travel with us?

Because you are the focus of our attention and we do everything we can to make sure you have a great experience!

In our opinion, however, this should be the claim of every tour operator. Therefore, we have put together a few more points that are important to us:

1) We are always there for you and adapt to your needs

You can reach us around the clock and on weekends. Especially if the “shoe pinches”, but we are not on site with you in Tanzania, you can always contact us. If, for example, you have food intolerances, we take these into account as best we can, as well as all other wishes. Just talk to us!

2) We offer you the highest possible flexibility

Our focus is on organizing climbs to Mount Kilimanjaro and safaris and all local services in Tanzania. Nevertheless, we take care of all the topics you entrust to us. This can be the organization of a complete package including departure by taxi from your doorstep to the airport. We also organize for you only the ascent of the Kilimanjaro with our guides and leave the organization of all other topics to you. If you want to make your trip even more adventurous and spend the night in the crater camp, this is also no problem. Just let us know when booking.

3) We provide you an all-round service

We provide you all necessary information for your ascent of Kilimanjaro as well as all services on site in Tanzania and, if required, equipment (e.g. hiking poles and trousers).

4) We work sustainably and socially fair

We have been awarded the TourCert Check and are working on further cooperations, which support a careful treatment of people and nature. This means, for example, we pay our porters and guides above average. A good dinner costs about 40 USD in the U.S., with a travel price of several thousand dollars they do not make a big difference. The porters in Tanzania, however, live on it for a week. We know many of them personally – for us they are part of Jambo Kilimanjaro and not service providers who are booked selectively.

5) We work transparently

We have no hidden costs, we make the scope of all services included quite clear. We also show you what the cost-components are.

6) Excellent price-performance ratio

We have built our organization as lean as possible but necessary. Components that do not create any added value for you as our traveler do not occur with us. This enables us to offer you the best services at a very fair price, regardless of whether you choose our budget or high-end travel packages.

7) Your money is safe

As required by German law (§ 651k BGB (German civil code)), all payments on our trips are also subject to insolvency insurance. This means that even if Jambo Kilimanjaro does not exist anymore due to insolvency, you will be reimbursed. The payments are managed on our German business bank account, whose deposits are secured in accordance with the German Deposit Protection Act. Since we accept payments by bank transfer as well as PayPal, you can ultimately decide which payment method you prefer.

8) We organize what we know and value quality

Thanks to our first-hand experience and our team in Tanzania we pass on our experience to you. Through our team we always have an up-to-date view of the events on site and only work together with selected and experienced guides. We do not organize anything for you that we would not organize for ourselves, our friends and relatives.

9) We are firmly anchored in Europe and open to the world

Our team works internationally to offer you the highest possible comfort. We speak fluent German, French and English. You want to meet us? We’d be happy to! We are regularly in Berlin, Frankfurt and Paris.

10) Challenge Kilimanjaro

Climbing Kilimanjaro is more than just a day hike over the hill on your doorstep. Accordingly, we accompany you on all topics concerning the ascent and offer, if desired, also the necessary support with your preparation.

11) You know who you travel with

You have already met a part of our team on our website. Our team in Tanzania has many years of experience in Kilimanjaro and is multilingual. Besides their native language Swahili, all guides speak English and some of them French and German.

12) You have a maximum budget

Just let us know the maximum amount you can spend on your trip and we will make you the best possible offer to match your dates. Inquiries about climbing the Kilimanjaro with a budget of less than 1,100 USD are not possible, however, as a large part of the money is already spent on the national park fee alone. Find out more.

13) Cost-effective way to cancel your trip

It can always happen that something unexpected comes up and you can’t start your trip. That’s a pity, but it happens. In this case we offer you the best possible cancellation options.

14) Optimal care on the mountain

We travel according to the principle 1 guide – 1 traveler. If someone from your group unexpectedly wants or must interrupt the tour during the ascent, the person will always be accompanied by a guide. So that the other tour participants can still walk and are not forced to turn back as well, the number of guides is adjusted to that of the travelers.
