4 days safari in Tanzania
On this safari you will spend 6 days in Tanzania, 4 of them on safari in the national parks Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Our experienced guides will show you the highlights of the four national parks and make your trip an unforgettable experience.
With us you can book this safari from 1,580 USD per person. For an individual offer simply send us your request.
The “Big 5” of Africa
Each of the three national parks is unique and offers a breathtaking variety of plants and animals. Discover the “Big 5” (elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard) in the Serengeti. Explore one of the most fertile inactive volcanic craters in the world in Ngorongoro National Park and enjoy the fascinating landscape of Lake Manyara with its countless flamingos.
You spend the nights on the day of arrival and departure at Chanya Lodge, near the city of Moshi. You can choose whether you want to stay in tents or in a lodge during the safari.
Our travel proposal
Day 1: Kilimanjaro Airport – Moshi
Welcome to Tanzania! Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be welcomed by your driver. Together you drive in the direction of Moshi (about 60 minutes drive). You are already expected at Chanya Lodge, which is located in a quiet area close to the centre of the small town.
After you have checked in, the rest of the day is at your free disposal and can be used for exploring the place or relaxing at the pool. Dinner will take place at the lodge but can also be arranged outside of the lodge (own organization necessary).
Day 2: Moshi – Lake Manyara
The first day of your safari starts at about 8 am. Our guide will pick you up at Chanya Lodge.
Together you will start the 200 km long drive to Lake Manyara National Park, which takes about 4.5 hours. After arrival and a small lunch break you will start your first game drive through the Lake Manyara National Park together with our guide. Shortly after your arrival in the national park you will see lush forests of acacia and mahogany trees. You should have your camera nearby for the coming hours and keep an eye out for giraffes, buffalos, impalas, baboons and other species of monkeys.
With a bit of luck, you will also discover the climbing lions that live here, although they are very shy. Lake Manyara is really unique. Especially at the appropriate time of year it offers an incredible natural spectacle, when the lake’s shores turn pink at the middle/end of the rainy seasons (April/May and November/December) due to the thousands of flamingos.
In the evening you will go to your chosen accommodation (Mto wa Mbu Camping or Karatu Simba Lodge), where a delicious dinner awaits you and strengthens you for the following day!
Day 3: Serengeti
Your day begins early with a big breakfast. Together you will then make your way to one of the most famous national parks in the world, the Serengeti National Park.
On your way there you will cross the nature reserve Ngorongoro, which consists of the two regions “highlands” and “plains”. During your journey, the landscape gradually changes from dense, foggy rainforests in the highlands to very dry and dusty plains, where most of your journey takes place. You have the opportunity to visit the villages of the Massai or the Olduvai Gorge. The Olduvai Gorge is well known for its evolutionary research and is an important archaeological site.
After about 3 hours drive you will finally reach Serengeti National Park. Both on the way there and during the first game drive in the Serengeti you will see a variety of different animals.
After you have arrived to your chosen accommodation (Seronera Camp or Thorn Tree Camp Lodge) in the evening, you will have dinner and a well-deserved night’s rest.
Day 4: Serengeti
After a rich breakfast you will start your adventure a little earlier than usual to experience the Serengeti in its full splendour.
Serengeti means endless expanses of nature and wildlife as far as the eye can see. At the latest now you will become aware of the dimensions of Serengeti National Park, which covers only part of the entire area of the Serengeti. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since the early 1980s and covers an area of more than 14,000 square kilometers (about 17 times the size of the state of Berlin).
The Serengeti is one of Africa’s most complex and intact ecosystems. Therefore, you can look forward to countless plant species like the characteristic umbrella acacias and millions of mammals like zebras, elephants and antelopes. The Serengeti is also home to the “Big 5” (elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard).
In the afternoon you continue in the direction of Ngorongoro National Park. Arrived at the accommodation of your choice (Mto wa Mbu Camp or Karatu Simba Lodge), a rich dinner awaits you.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Moshi
Your day begins early with a big breakfast. Together with our guide you will then make your way to the rim of Ngorongoro crater and drive down into the crater shortly after your arrival.
Ngorongoro is the largest inactive volcanic crater in the world with an intact ecosystem. The Ngorongoro Crater was created by the collapse of a former volcanic mountain. The crater has a massive bottom of about 264 square kilometers (about 3 times the size of Paris) with a depth of over 600 meters.
During the ride in the crater floor you will see again the breathtaking variety of Africa’s wilderness. African elephants, buffalos, black rhinos, hippos, hyenas, cheetahs, lions and dozens of other species await you.
In the early afternoon you return to Moshi. After a 4-hour drive you will reach Chanya Lodge, where you will spend your last night after a relaxed dinner.
Day 6: Moshi – Kilimanjaro Airport
After a good night’s sleep and finishing breakfast, you will check out of the lodge. If you have further activities planned, you can continue your individual travel program accordingly. Alternatively, your driver will drive you to Kilimanjaro International Airport at the appropriate time and you will travel home. Whether during the return or onward journey: Take a few quiet minutes to review your experiences!
