Ilona Katja, Owner & Managing Director
I am Ilona, an enthusiastic Africa traveller who has not only experienced Tanzania but also other African countries such as Kenya, Botswana, Zimbabwe and South Africa. I have been visiting the continent every year since 2014 and I am still fascinated by the different landscapes and the unique impressions that you can take away from there and never forget. That is why I run Jambo Kilimanjaro with a lot of passion to make an unforgettable adventure in the heart of Africa possible for you too.
For me, running Jambo Kilimanjaro means finally coming full circle. After completing my studies in tourism and a small diversions via the banking and finance industry (in which I am still involved), my many trips to Africa led to the founding of a non-profit association “Mbuzi Chizi Ostafrika e. V.” for various projects such as the goat cheese project for single women and mothers in Arusha. Now I can live out what I love to do with all my heart – organise trips! I don’t offer anything that has not been approved by my local team and me! Authentic and sustainable travel is particularly important to me.
